A nutritional pattern for multiple sclerosis
A clinical trial in which we test the influence of a specific dietary pattern on underlying mechanisms of multiple sclerosis.
MS & the environment
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is influenced by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Among these, nutrition appears to play a significant role, offering potential for effective dietary interventions to slow down disease progression.
Samples?
At scheduled intervals, participants are invited to visit the campus to provide blood samples. Urine and stool samples, collected at home using a provided kit, can be brought along during these visits.
Nutritional guidelines
The goal of the nutritional program is not to eliminate the foods you enjoy, but rather to find tasty alternatives that may positively impact the course of MS. Hardly any foods are completely excluded. This is a nutrition program, not a weight-loss diet, focused on promoting healthier eating habits.
Tracking nutritional habits
We use a smartphone application where you can log all consumed foods and beverages. This is combined with online forms to help track your eating and drinking habits.
