Metabolism In Neuroinflammatory Diseases
While lipids have a negative reputation, they are crucial for proper functioning of our body. Especially in the brain, that consists for the major part of lipids, they have a vital role. Lipids influence neurodegenerative disorders like multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer's disease in both positive and negative ways. Our team is dedicated to uncover key pathways in lipid metabolism involved in brain diseases that can serve as a target to develop more effective therapies. Additionally, we determine how our diet and dietary lipids shape these metabolic processes to understand their impact on health and disease.
